Florians is owned by Hampshire based Horticulturist, Michelle Washington-Jenkins.
Like many people, Michelle's journey to horticulture has been preceded by a different route altogether. After leaving school in Sunninghill, Michelle worked overseas as Dancer in Asia & Europe. Afterwards, a career as a private Pilates teacher in Mayfair & Chelsea. Michelle then co-founded Shoreditch based model & talent agency W Mgmt and remains a non-executive Director.
A career break to raise 3 children and a decade later of growing plants and flowers, Michelle retrained academically though the Royal Horticultural Society and worked as a professional gardener at Heckfield Place & West Green House, where she continues to host workshops.
Michelle can often be found in her own Victorian walled garden and two acre plot in Dipley filming and encouraging others to share her passion for growing sustainably, no matter what age and stage of their life.
